One in four adults in New Mexico will experience some form of mental illness in their lifetime. Nearly 60% will NOT seek help for their disability due to the negative stigma of mental illness. Of the 40% that do seek help, Hispanics access mental health services at half the rate of the rest of the population. In other words, mental health is a growing problem locally and a bigger problem for Hispanics. The goal for this event is to erase the stigma of mental illness in New Mexico and make people more aware of all the resources available. Come join us to support this great cause.
Kickoff Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) and join the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) New Mexico and local business partners to shine a light on how STIGMA keeps people from getting the help they need when it comes to behavioral health
