COVID-19 Update

NAMI National has issued the following statement addressing the Coronavirus, COVID-19: <Read NAMI Statement>.

NAMI New Mexico, out of an abundance of caution, is suspending any NAMI State functions or meetings, unless otherwise noted. Currently the NAMIWalks 2020 is postponed and a new date will be announced as soon as it is known.  Please check back often for any updates.

Each affiliate will be making their own determinations as to which meetings or classes will be cancelled or postponed and for what period. Please check with your local NAMI Affiliate for details of what actions they are taking to address the COVID-19.

Peer-to-Peer

Registration for NAMI’s FREE Peer to Peer Education Course is now open.    Slots are filled on a first-come first-served basis.

Peer-to-Peer is a free 8-week recovery education course open to anyone 18 or older experiencing a mental health challenge, The course is designed to encourage growth, healing and recovery among participants. NAMI Albuquerque is pleased to offer this course free of charge

NAMI Peer-to-Peer is taught by trained leaders with a lived experience. This program includes activities, discussions and informative videos. However, as with all NAMI programs, it does not include recommendations for specific treatment approaches.

Start Date:  April 19th 2020 (Once per week through June 7th)

This class is made possible through the Training & Education grant, funded by the Bernallilo County Behavioral Health Initiative. Through this grant, NAMI New Mexico, in conjunction with NAMI Albuquerque, aims to increase behavioral health education and support programs to individuals living with a  mental health condition and their families within Bernallilo County
